| This was a thoroughly enjoyable 1000 foot ascent from the saddle between Matahpi and GTTS Mountains, done during GMS Mountaineering Week with Aaron and Ellen, and a very nice group of GMS folks. The view of Sexton Glacier from the summit is quite memorable—it's quite a bit larger than the view from the Sun Road makes it appear, and from Matahpi you only see the top half! Anyway, a very nice outing, quickly done—and it's a good thing because it was shortly after returning to the saddle and traversing GTTS that blister problems hit in a major way. Ouch! But made both summits, and despite my feet a great day! |
