| On my third attempt to reach the Grauspitz (the big "sister" to the Hinter Grauspitz), I stumbled upon this summit in the clouds/fog, thinking it was the Grauspitz. My GPS and the summit log clued me in that I was not on the desired summit! A map check up there added to the humiliation. I signed the summit register at 15:05 hours, and noted I could not see a thing (40 meter visibility as seen in the photos on the mountain page). The memorial statute will startle you if approaching in obscured visibility. | |
