| Foxy Long Bottoms | NW Face to W. Ridge ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 14, 2009 | |
| Would recommend NOT going up the NW Face. It is scrambly but extremely loose. The gulley on the W. Ridge to the summit still had snow and ice. 4th of July bowl snow is GREAT now. | ||

| A great way to spend a day of vacation! Didn't see any other climbers once above Agnes Lake. Saw three Moose off of Cameron Pass on the way in as well as a herd of bighorn (20 animals roughly) closer to Fort Collins. A GREAT scramble in an enchanting pocket of Colorado. | ||

| What a great approach. A beautiful lake, a snow-filled cirque, and then an alpine approach up the ridge. Great summit. | ||

| Accompanied by my brother Jim and wife Lynda. Reached the knob just west of the summit before being forced down by lightning. Sooo close. | ||

| jhubach | Route Climbed: Colorado River Trail Head Via Skeleton Gulch Date Climbed: August 5th 2005 ![]() | |
| My Brother and I reached the summit via Skeleton Gulch. We headed up the ridge between Box Canyon and Skeleton Gulch. Stayed the night in Skeleton Gulch and summited the next morning. Great Views from the top of the ridge. I grew up in Estes, and I have to say, this is the best part of the Park. | ||

| Great, long day hike from Colorado River Trailhead. Beautiful day and plenty of solitude. Saw a moose at the trailhead and a herd of big horn in box canyon. This Mt. was my favorite climb of many during a summer in Estes park. | ||

| Mount Richthofen is a glorious mountian. Its location on the northwest corner of Rocky Mountain National Park provides some unique views. This mountain provides a great introduction to the steep scree slopes and rotten volcanic rock of the Never Summer Range. I think it debatable if the easiest route from Lake Agnes is class 3 (as my dogs made it, indeed I followed Sopris up the summit gulley) but the rotten nature of the rock demands care and respect. Whatever the case I loved ascending Mount Richthofen. It is one of my favorites. Jon Bradford | ||

| Nelson | Route Climbed: Lake Agnes variations Date Climbed: 3 or 4 times, June, Sept, October, 1990's ![]() | |
| This is a great mountain. As mentioned on Aaron's page it's a good snow climb in June (at least back when Colorado still had snow in June...), and a nice third class scramble during the typical climbing season. A variation we took once was climbing straight up the face above Lake Agnes, staying to the left (east) of the saddle. It was steep but with good routefinding never more than 3rd class. Typing this makes me want to head out there and do it again! | ||

| A great trip to a remote summit. We didn't see anyone ascending this mountain this day. We did check the summit log and found a few people had taken trips but definitely not the hoards you find in other places. Wonderful views of RMNP and the Never Summers - an vantage I had not seen before. The rock climbing was great fun. The route looked harder than it was. | ||

| Awesome climb (Class 2+) of an awesome mountain in a spectacular area. The highlight of my season because we had the mountain completely to ourselves. This is a dramatic place, with fun and exciting scrambling options. The summit block pitch is a real gas. The view from the top is stunning. A real diamond in the rough, and apparently, my own little secret! Thanks to the I.U. Trekkers and Vern Garner for believing in me and this mountain. It paid off! | ||
