Date Climbed: Jul 30, 2007

fun little hike - we scrambled up the rocks on the south side from the parking lot and dropped down via the scree on the other side - got a ticket earlier in the day for hiking off-trail into the crater, but this hike helped make the day a good one

calebEOCFun scramble  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 28, 2006

After knocking out Mt Scott earlier in the day, me and a guy from NJ I met while at the Mt Scott L.O. drove over and scrambled up to the summit of Hillman Peak via the south ridge, then down the north face and out to the pinnacle just to the east of the Hillman Peak summit, an exhilerating little rock climb. A quick hike but very fun!

A quick but satifying hike and than scramble. I summited via the south then actually skirted the east side. Kinda loose, scary exposure. Great views of the lake and the southern oregon cascades.

CornvallisSouth side?  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 21, 2005

Drove up after work (worked in Roseburg for 9 months :-( )and hiked up from the saddle between Hillamn and the Watchman. Still lots of snow. People in the parking lot looked at me like I was crazy when I put on my pack, gaters, and grabed my ice axe. One couple even watched me walk off until I was out of site. Some of the best views in the park.

I did this right after watching the sunrise from the Watchman. I stupidly thought I was at the base of the summit pinnacle, and climbed what I thought was it's north face, but it was in fact a mass of rotten rocks that all moved when i grabbed them. Had a nice view from the top and descended the correct easy way.

Reese (5) insisted on summiting due to hearing from his older brother that Dad's day pack contained treats reserved only for the top. Had to boost him up some sections on the north side of the pinnacle. (Please don't tell his mother.)
