Matthew HollimanNW Slope / SW Ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: May 13, 2007

Had originally hoped to traverse over to Mt. Bolton Brown and on to Tinemaha, a la Bob, but a late start (owing to it being Mother's Day and my needing to call my Mum) made those plans impractical.

The climb wasn't as sloggy as I expected--I cramponed up frozen snow from the glaciers above Birch Lake, and descended via the SW Ridge (a little class 3 by keeping to the crest of the ridge) to the saddle below. Surprised to find some ice in the narrow chute below this pass!

Bob BurdEast Side (ascent), SW Ridge (descent)  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Apr 30, 2007

A long 18hr day doing Birch - Bolton Brown - Prater - Tinemaha, but beautiful weather and warm spring conditions made it very rewarding. Trip Report

RSN473Route Climbed: NW (snow) chute Date Climbed: 5-19-2000  Sucess!

Spring snow turned this scree slog into a swell snow climb. The traverse over to The Thumb was not as swell due to the soft snow.
