shknbkeTen Mile Traverse  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Sep 19, 2009

Did Peak 1 via the East ridge from Miner's Creek then all the way across to Peak 9. Got picked up by my wife at the Peak 9 restaurant, which made for a sweet car shuttle!

colinpencesteep but fun  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 19, 2004

I climbed Peak 1 with several of the IU group, my "usual suspect" companions. On the way up I got lightheaded from lack of potassium (?), and got bailed out with a banana supplied by one of my friends.

After I got down to the car, I drove back to Denver to attend a Grateful Dead concert.

What a day!

KruckMe and goat  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 26, 2008

Just me and a single mountain goat on the summit this day. The goat approached from the Tenmile saddle and we reached the summit at the exact same time. The goat made the downclimb look easy and he left me in the dust.
Excellent hike; awesome views; and good, steep climbing on the upper route.

First climbed as part of the Tenmile Traverse, and have come back a few times since. Beautiful mountains. The east ridge is a treat.

The "gang of 5" climbed Peak 1 and Tenmile to scout a route around or over Peak 3. It looks daunting! We all live in Summit Co and have climbed Peak 1 several times for the outstanding views.

A perfect day for a summit. The stats:

Radio Tower - 1:00 elapsed

Peak 1 - 2:15 elapsed

Peak 2 - 3:15 elapsed (1/2 hr crossing)

The Mt. Royal trail branches at around 10,050 feet. The right branch goes to Mt. Royal overlook, and the left branch hits the crest of the ridge above the overlook. I took the left branch and enjoyed a pretty walk through the upper forest. I dropped below the Peak 1-Tenmile ridge to the East on my way out to Tenmile, but on the way back I stayed directly on the ridge and didn't encounter anything harder than 3rd class (with great views alllll the way down to I-70 :-).

Another great day... Gorgeous views down to I-70 and to the east as well. Took around 2.5 hours to Peak 1 summit and about 30 additional minutes to Tenmile Peak. The saddle to Tenmile is actually a bit easier I think than the route right under Peak 1, but it has spectacular views!! Long, steep route down... boy my knees are sore! Thanks for the beta! a great set of peaks!

Got a late start at 4:15 but made it to the summit in just over two hours. On the return had an interesting time finding the trail through all the snow drifts before dark, but managed to find the trail in the end. Good peak to run up after work.

Very steep climb but enjoyable. Fun rock climbing at the top - make your own route. Awesome American flag on the summit makes for great pictures. Great day.

Awesome. Instantly a classic and group favorite. We had GREAT weather and fabulous views. The group really enjoyed the terrain variety and the climbing. Going down, the long steep sections were murder, but definitely worth it. We'll return some day for Tenmile when we have more time. BTW-excellent beta from Mr. Kane here at SP!

The hike up to these peaks from Frisco was strenuous, but enjoyable. Highly recommended is the "Tenmile Traverse" or climbing Peaks 1-10. The most difficult portion of this is between Tenmile Peak (Peak 2) and Peak 3. Peak 3 to Peak 4 is a blast as well. A huge, long day but well worth it.

Due to time restrictionsI didnt make it to the summit of peak one but did summit Victoria Point. I started right behind the condo that I stayed at and went virtualy strait up from there. You can see in photo id_47954 the cragy east face route that I took. It started off easy consisting of bushwacking through the trees untill I reached the boulder field that was covered in snow (fun ;-( ). Afteward I followed this crack up the technical part of the climb (class 4?). from there It was a hop skip and a jump to Victoria Point.

I always had my eye on this peak when driving I-70 through Dillon and Frisco, so I went and cllimbed it. The views are very good and the vertical gain might surprise you, I think it was 11 miles and 4,500-ft.

I've done this route as training several times in the last few years as I use to live in Frisco. Very straight forward and tons of fun when you do the entire ridge from Peak 1 in Frisco to Peak 10 in Breckenridge.
