asaking11Raven's Ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 17, 2009

Hiked up to Lake Peak, beautiful views, and then hiked over to Penitente Peak. I did this whole hike car-to-car in 4.5 hours, and I thought I was doing way awesome until I saw a couple of guys running up the trail.

EpicaLast peak for Wiley....  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Oct 19, 2008

I was training for climbing in Ecuador and the day after climbing Santa Fe Baldy, I headed up Lake Peak. It was cool to see where I had been the day before. It was also the last mountain for my sweet dog Wiley.... he died 9 months later.

Florida FrankFine summer day  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 5, 1991

Awesome day trip from the ski area with our friends Linda and Fernando. Interesting melt formations in the snow remaining up on the ridge top. Beautiful day!

wbassTrio of Sangre  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 1, 2009

This is one of the more understated of the southern Sangre peaks. Most are rounded (like Penitente or Deception) or easy to climb and Lake has some actual scrambling and route finding. No clouds, no wind, wonderful day. We came up from Deception, then onto Penitente and back via Winsor.

went there to ski it, but did not. Steper than I thought.

strudolyubovWinter climb via Ravens Ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jan 24, 2009

Winter climb via Ravens Ridge. Climbed south face. Hard snow and some ice. Returned over the ridge and false summit. One of my local favorites: its been my second winter summit, ~10'th overall. Windy, limited visibility, but not cold.

Date Climbed: Nov 9, 2008

Climbed via Windsor trail to the wilderness boundry, etc... etc... Scouted campsites for an altitude acclimatization weekend in January before I go to Aconcagua. Excited to go back in the winter. This is my new favorite summit near ABQ.

Date Climbed: Jan 1, 2008

Fun climb in snowshoes, almost as much fun as sliding past beginners on the way down the ski hill.

Date Climbed: May 30, 2008

Followed ski trails up to the summit ridge. The last section was suprisingly rugged and a little tricky with snow still in the couloirs. Good views all around

Lake, Penitente, and Tesuque...all via Raven's Ridge. A great hike, great summits (at least Lake and Penitente), but too many people. My favorite part of the hike was Raven's Ridge, and heading over to Penitente Peak which had nobody.

I demolished the hike up Ravens Ridge. So quick and efficent that someone will probably write a book about it. The only problem is that the knife Edge that seperates Penitente and Leak peak is a tourist congestion F* Fest. Not only do you have to wait in line, to go through certain sections, you also have to listen to them say how easy it was to take the ski lift up and walk over.

Go lost in the snow on my first try. This time, no problems. Great summit.

jfrishmanIIIRoute Climbed: South Ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Apr 9, 2006

I climbed Lake Peak several times in early 2004, sometimes alone, sometimes with others. It's easy when you work at Ski Santa Fe in the slow season (I was a good boy, clocked out first). I had a wonderful day up there with the woman who a year and a half later became my wife.
Climbed again 4.9.06. Some snow in the trees on Raven's Ridge, but easy going. Best half-day thrill around Santa Fe!

I decided to climb Lake Peak at 5 am when I woke up. It was a great trip but I'm irritated because I forgot my memory card for my camera at home and couldn't take pictures of the wonderful scenery.

bvandenzenRoute Climbed: South Ridge, Raven's Ridge Up, Ski run down Date Climbed: June 19th, 2005  Sucess!

We reached the summit on beautiful clear day in June. Still plenty of snow to deal with in the trees at that time, but nothing above treeline. Great views of Truchas group. And the bristlecones under Deception are way cool!

Midlife MountaineerRoute Climbed: Raven's Ridge, Lake Peak, returned via Tesuque Peak Date Climbed: July, 2004  Sucess!

This turned out to be a short hike because of the time saved by returning via Tesuque. Nice day but breezy at the top

rlearyRoute Climbed: Raven's Ridge Date Climbed: June 12, 2005  Sucess!
It was cold and very cloudy, but there was no lightning at all. We climbed up Raven's ridge to the peak, descended the north-west ridge, dropped down into Nambe bowl, glissaded a bit there, and went down to Nambe lake. From there we walked down the canyon a bit and then climbed a steep, snowy chute back up to Raven's ridge to avoid the seemingly endless slog from Nambe creek back to the wilderness boundary on the Windsor trail.
