| A short side hike to this mountain before we traverse to Russell, then to Whitney's North Slope, to Mount Muir, and then back to Whitney. Finish at Lower Boy Scout Lake for a nice day hike. | |

| Bagged this peak with Joel Wilson on our way to Mt Russell. We accidentally took a longer route by scrambling to what looked like the highest part of the mountain as viewed from the end of the steep talus slope. After reaching an insignificant minaret, we had to scramble along the ridgeline all the way to the real summit. The view of Mt Russell from this peak was magnificent! | |

| Day 8 of the 2002 Mountaineers Challenge. 5:15hr to the summit of Russell from the Portal, via the Rockwell variation, Mt. Carillon, and the East Ridge. Descended the South Face, ascended Whitney's North Face, summitting 2:15h later. Summited Muir 1h later, returned to the Portal in another 2:15h. Total time, 10:45h. Trip Report. | |
