The hike in was long, but lovely. The creek fording was alot of fun too. I recommend hiking in rather than driving in, the appreciation of it is so much richer and the hike in is quite fun. Memorial Day weekend and we saw only two other people! Love it!

Aaron made a mistake when he calls it the "Amazing Wheeler Geologic Area;" the word "Amazing" should have been in all caps, and about 10 inches high! People, take a break from the peaks and visit a part of Colorado truly unique, marvelous, and almost completely unknown. The Wheeler Geologic Area is really quite special. This is not something to schedule only when you've nothing better to do--this IS one of the better things. Don't miss it!

I've visited Wheeler twice and was overwhelmed both times. A fun place to explore, one can spend hours being entertained by this wonderful, enchanted location. Be sure to see the GRAND TOUR route description. Wheeler is a challenge to get to but worth it. You'll never forget it!
