| Fine October day. Some clouds and cool. The fall colors were just beginning to show. I did this peak in combo with Mt. Judah for an easy 2 hour hike. One of the easiest peaks I've done, but well worth the time and effort. | |

| My 6X or 7X on this peak. Did this last, after my Old Donner Pass Grand Slam (Anderson, Tinker Knob, and Mt. Judah) 4X. I placed another larger set of nesting cans with a bound book for the register. The other materials seemed to be in fair condition. The registers are located in a low, 1 foot high, ledge cave to the westsouthwest of the benchmark. Be sure to sign in! I try to be back to maintain this placement, but circumstances sometimes dictate a delay. Well, until a couple years from now. | |

| Had to hit it early to avoid the crowds. Only one around at 8am. Enjoyed the solitude and the great views. Summit register near the survey marker needs a new notebook. The current one is completely full. | |

| Never been to Donner Peak without skis on my feet. Even more crowded than during the colder months and plenty of loud, obnoxious people doing their best to ruin the quiet beauty of the area. Fun anyway. Found a couple nice looking spots to do some bouldering. | |

| There is a ton of ice all over, take a small side trip into the trail tunnels on the north west side where you find crystal clear ice flowing out of every crack there. There really isnt a defined route on this peak when I say NE face the route doesnt follow that exactly but you do change bearings often cause of the terrain. Easist way to obtain the summit is from the south a few class 2-3 moves could take you to the summit from other more direct routes up the summit block. | |

| Came over the top of Donner Peak on my way back from Tinker's Knob. There were quite a few tourists up there, and no summit register to be found. A lot of fun scrambling to be had in the area... Descended a steep gully on the northwest side, and came out on top of SPRR's China Wall. | |

| There are numerous ways to gain the NW Ridge, but I started with a bit of ice climbing. The day started off overcast with some snow in the air but once I got on top of the ridge, it was a gorgeous day. Actually it was gorgeous slightly before, but just very windy with lots of spin-drift where I happened to be. See my SP Trip Report for more details. PS: The summit register was very easy to find when I was here - it was right under the rock where the Donner Peak summit sign was placed.
