A beuatiful mountain indeed. First climb (running) in summer 1993, where we went to the real peak along the narrow edge. Again during christmas '05 (telemark skies), '06 (running on snow crust) and '07 (snow shoes). Stopped at the false peaks in the winter ascents.
Went back and made it to the summit. Windy and some snow, but visibility were not that bad. No views though. Funny thing about this mountain is that 90% (maybe more) turn back 15-20 minutes before the summit because of the cafeteria which seems to be the goal for most of the hikers. However, it is the last summitridge which makes this an interesting trip. Some people even seems to believe that the cafeteria is the summit. They miss out..
Turned back at about 1600 meters due to severe wind, and more importantly; almost no visibility. Most of the walk on snow. No other footprints to be seen up there that day. Summited this mountain in July 05 though with people all over the place.Much more fun with tough weather. Next time I will summit no matter what.
Route Climbed: Circumnavigated the massif, but normal route to summit Date Climbed: September 2002
We got the first snow on the season, so it was a bit slippery. My girlfriend stopped at the false summit, I went to the main summit. It almost cleared up a couple of times, but I never got the famous view.
