wyopeakMikesunrise  Sucess!

I once hiked with a friend in the late 80's up to the peak in the dark just to watch the sunrise. We went up the Cedar Flats trail and then cut upwards offtrail to the saddle between Telegraph and Timber. The sunrise was awesome from the peak. I have a photo of the shadow of Telegraph peak going miles away.

Date Climbed: Jun 20, 2009

We climbed back down to the 3Ts trail, and descended considerably in elevation to the Timber/Telegraph saddle. We reached the saddle, and started up the switchbacks on the Telegraph Peak side. After passing the false summit, we reached the turnoff to Telegraph Peak (8985’), and made the final ascent. The total distance for this section was 2.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1265’.

We did the 3 T's today. A bit chilly with the wind, but the spectacular views more than made up for that. My favorite peak. Awesome hike.

Clearly the best of the 3T's. The three peaks made for a very nice day hike.

Decided to tag the tallest one first in quest of 3 T's via Ice House Cyn. Cool register box and awesome view in all directions! Very windy day, although quite sunny. Windburn & sunburn in same day. :)

Took the 3T trail from Icehouse Canyon to Timber, Telegraph, and Thunder on a very warm day in August. Went back the same way (overall ~15 miles and 5,900 feet elevation gain).

TripoliRickNW Face winter

After looking at is countless times from skiing of Thunder, we gave up "ice" skiing on Thunder a few hours one day and cramponed up the face and skiied back down. Unfortunately, we skied quite a ways down towards Stockton Flats before stopping and then postholed our way back up to Thunder. My advice: don't go too far unless you park in Lytle Creek and to some ascents (winter) from there.

Started at the Middle Fork of Lytle Creek and came up to Icehouse Saddle, hit the 3 Ts on the way to Mt. Baldy. This was my 2nd attempt at this route, the 1st time in December we camped on Telegraph and went back due to ice and snow, and no Ice axe or crampons.

Climbed it twice, the second time via the 3T route from Icehouse Canyon. Took three hours to reach the summit.

Did this as part of the 3 Ts, Telegraph being the best of the 3. Nice day out, no crampons required. Did a traverse from Icehouse Canyon to Baldy Notch. Hiked down to the parking lot and hitched a ride from another SP member back to the truck.
