Camped in McCurdy Park and did this as a short hike. Amazing scenery. One of the most interesting places in Colorado.

Combined McCurdy with Bison from Ute Creek TH on a long early spring day. It took nearly 3 hours of tough snowshoeing to get there. Make sure you know where the true summit is as there are many outcropping that will fool you!

I cannot convey in words how amazing this hike was. Electric blue September Colorado sky. Golden aspen. Pink Pikes Peak Granite. We had an amazing outing. The wind nearly blew us off the summit, yet we were giggling in the brisk autumn air. This hike is beautiful, especially from McCurdy Park to the summit. Simply jaw-dropping lovely. I'm not going to lie, though: I was CRAPPED OUT by the time we got back to the cabin, ready for bed at 9:00 PM. Hiking partner: Janet

Solo overnight trip. Saw 2 people on the trail Sat and about 4 on Sunday. What a neat bizarre landscape. My first use of my new bivy sac and there were tons of great sheltered spots in the rocks above treeline. Set up camp, ate dinner and summitted Bison. Watched a fantastic sunset and saw the lights of Denver come into view. Got up the next morning, summitted McCurdy, and packed out. If you want to try camping above treeline, this is a good area to do it. However, water is scarce up there. Had to melt snow. I'll be back again I'm sure.

kane and I had awesome weather for this hike. The Sand Creek approach is through some seldom seen areas and was as much work as it was fun. We spent the better part of 1.5 hours exploring the summit. Climbed several of the formations.

McCurdy is Majestic. It would take a lot of time to realy get to know this mountain. With its mile and a half long summit plateau studded with rock formations and bespeckled with the Ghost Forest it will always have something new to divulge. My last ascent was December 14 via the very long (at least in December) north sloped route. Dogs accompanied me on every ascent.

I really enjoyed McCurdy Mountain. Although long in distance (14.4 miles) the hike is very interesting.

I have a lot of respect for this mountain. The mountain is huge, you can spend days up there and still not see every thing.
