| Caltun lake-Strunga Dracului-Negoiu-Strunga Doamnei a nice evening hike :) Negoiu hut-Acele Cleopatrei-Negoiu-Caltun lake-Balea lake in a bad weather after storm and rains up we find frozen snow and ice :D. | |

| Wonderful peak and interesting ,quite demanding route (high mountain tourism) ,in bad weather conditions it would be not so easy ...especially with huge rucksacks on your backs ... Great descent to Caltun Lake (shelter) through famous Strunga Dracului (Dracula's Gully) ,it really rocks ! | |

| We climbed Negoiu as part of crossing whole Fagaras from west to the east , but i liked this part probably the most because of great weather we had and great views Climbed again : 16 August 2003 - this time fog and rain | |

| A nice hike, with the most demanding section being the ascent to / near Dracului. Several of the chains in the Strunga Dracului have become disconnected from the wall. (We climbed it with backpacks and mostly without using the chains.) This route is probably more difficult on descending. You can however choose another trail to skip this section. On returning we used Strunga Ciobanului which is shorter. Again sections of chain are missing / disconnected. | |
