| Long--very long--dayhike of Lion Rock and Triple Divide Peak out of Crescent Meadow. Approached the peak from Tamarack Lake, and gained the southernmost west ridge when it looked preferable to the loose talus on the south slopes. The ridge was more solid, and had some enjoyable class 3 scrambling. Recommended.
The NE Chute had a lot of snow, and didn't look doable without an axe/crampons, so I had to descend to the south and traverse around to Lion Pass to make my way over to Triple Divide. |
