| I spent a wonderful four days in Wallis, first in the Lötschental, one of Switzerland's most beautiful and preserved valleys, and then I moved over to Oberwald at the foot of the Furka pass. I took the post-bus to the top of the Furka pass, and then walked over the Tällligrat, continuing constantly along the crest and a minor glacier, then a short, very steep and a bit slippery passage down and straight back up, and up the final slope to the summit on 3099 meters altitude. The view to the Wallis Alps, the Ticino, the Bernese Alps and central Switzerland was absolutely magnificent that day! I went back down the same way I went up. | |

| A perfect tour to acclimatise. Lot's of snow on the route from the Furkapass. | |

| Furka pass raod was still closed - so there were "only" app 20 climbers that started from the turn of the road. (I won't tell how we got there...). Quite good conditions: First some fog, then sunny but later the first clouds occured again. For the final 100m or so using ice axe (for ascent) and in addition crampons for descent was advisable for security reason. | |

| Climbed with Monica Spicker. We crossed the Muttglacier very low and reached the ridge far below the saddle thus giving ourselves a much longer tour along the ridge. | |

| Starting point realp through Witenwasseren valley/Muttvalley up to the ENE-ridge. On this broad ridge up to summit. Decent down via Mutt glacier towards Furka pass. A nice and scenic tour! Highly recommended! | |
