| I spent a wonderful four days in Wallis, first in the Lötschental, one of Switzerland's most beautiful and preserved valleys, and then I moved over to Oberwald at the foot of the Furka pass. I took the post-bus to the top of the Furka pass, and then walked over the Tällligrat, continuing constantly along the crest and a minor glacier, then a short, very steep and a bit slippery passage down and straight back up, and up the final slope to the summit on 3099 meters altitude. The view to the Wallis Alps, the Ticino, the Bernese Alps and central Switzerland was absolutely magnificent that day! I went back down the same way I went up. |
