I pulled off at this area by sheer accident & started down the trail because I thought it looked inviting. Had no idea this was the access point for Guajara, Grieta and Pasajiron. Great views of Teide. Hiked down in a massive cloud bank.
Route Climbed: same as tlogan ;) Date Climbed: Nov 5, 2006
great views of the surroundings... but the sun was very hot, so it was quite exhausting for me. The reward at the top was excellent though - great views of the plain & el Teide, not to mention, some pringles too:)
Delgollada de Guajara up Ucanca down Date Climbed: Nov 5, 2006
This was my favourite peak on the trip the views of the surrounding peaks, the caldera, the roques de garcia and Teide were the deal! Loved Guajara and wil return in the future to climb this and several of her neighbours in the near future.
Would also like to thank my wife Rachel for taking time out on our honeymoon to do some climbing. Love ya babe! You're the best!
Route Climbed: North (from Parador hotel) Date Climbed: 19th September 2005
Climbed from the Parador hotel, along the so called "ledges" although these were rather duller than expected, as they are wider than they look. Great for acclimatising and great views.
Route Climbed: Normal route via Degollada de Guajara Date Climbed: May 2001
Easy, but exhausting climb, due to the heat that you usually have in the Canadas del Teide. You rarely see a cloud up there! So bring some (a lot) water with you. Great views from the peak: Llano de Ucanca (the plain) and of course Pico Viejo and Pico Teide. The descent was a little disappointingbecause the "narrow bands" turned out to be pretty wide.
