| Hiked up from Colby Canyon back in the eighties a couple of times. A really fun hike and a great peak. The final scramble it lots of fun. Did it once with lots of fall snow, excellent views when it is clear. | |

| yikes...I remember jumping when I heard that rattle from behind a rock. I didn't have to think twice about high-tailing it outta there! On the flip side, it was a lovely hike...aawww | |

| Started from Red Box to Strawberry-Lawlor saddle. Nice up and downs to Strawberry summit. Did Lawlor on the way back to Red Box. Many steep sections and nasty yuccas on the descent from Lawlor. | |

| Hiked from Colby Canyon, fun and too short easy scramble, dropped down and back up to bag Lawlor since the trip to Strawberry was so short, then back to Strawberry and out Colby Canyon. Smokin' hot day. Saw a few rattlers and got shook up pretty good when I got warned by a 3.5 footer <4ft away. | |

| Climbed the North Face via a route called Strawberry Roam that was climbed by the Mendenhalls back in 1936. I had a topo that Ruth Mendenhall had scribbled down and a short route description. The climbing was OK and the rock was loose in sections. Tried a route up the direct center of the North Face earlier in the day but was stopped by difficult climbing in a shallow dihedral. Excellent day of climbing. | |

| It was 72 in my hometown Monrovia but there was lingering snow patches on the summit. Just a perfect day. It really is one of the most rewarding summits in the San Gabriels. | |
