kteichertFrom Mineral basin  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Nov 7, 2009

Parked at 7900' up the MIneral Basin road, where it got so rough, I didn't wanna take my truck any further. Did American Fork East, West and South, and Haystack. Descended the northeast face of American Fork East down into Mineral Basin. Was snow covered and my top speed was 25.6 mph according to my GPS. Was quite a rush. Total round trip was 9.96 miles and I completed it in 4 hours 3 mins.

Took the tram up and did part of the Bullion Divide ridge traverse and hikes down white pine. Turned out to be 10 miles. The climb over to red baldly was interesting.

Nice to do this one. A beautiful day but rain to the west made me go ahead and visit all three quickly and then go back down. Saw moose and deer, too.

Date Climbed: Jul 26, 2008

I really enjoyed this hike. I made the hike quite easy by riding the tram to Hidden Peak, but I had a ton of fun on the ridge. I did this one by myself. I met SP member, climbingchic, near the summit. It was a beautiful day and I had a blast.

Left trail in White Pine Canyon and headed up northwest ridge of Red Top Mountain then easy traverse to the Twins. The views from AF Twin Peaks and Red Top are some of the finest in the Wasatch. A very enjoyable and worthwhile hike.

Loop trip from White Pine TH with Red Baldy. My 16th time on this summit. Saw two mountain goats on the way over from Red Baldy. While on the summit there was rain/virga in a full 360 degrees around me, but overhead was blue sky.

    Date Climbed: Jun 1, 2008

Wanted to do the Pipeline Couloir but was redirected by Snowbird ski patrol at about 9am. Kind of a bummer but we traversed East towards the backcountry gate and climbed the full East Ridge instead. Still a beautiful morning from the top of the Central Wasatch!
