| Made good time up to and over the glaciers. Annoying loose rock up just below summit ridge. Top of ridge very loose with nothing to anchor to. I brought (and needed) a grappling hook made out of rebar to get to the summit pillar. | |

| We were dropped off by our hired truck at the wrong location, so when we started our summit attempt at 5am-ish, it took us 4 hours to get to the actual mountain! We climbed for a bit, but weather was super bad, so we ended up turning back. Decided it wasn't worth tumbling off the mountain in the fog! Glissading was fun, and I got to see my first real glacier! Woo hoo! | |

| Nice trek with excellent view of Chimborazo! Glacier was in poor conditions. Near the summit there was just ice and rocks falling. Went there again in Dec. 2003 but turned around due to bad weather conditions. | |
