WasatchvoyageFrom Crystal Lake and Watson.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 10, 2009

After making my way up and over Mt. Watson, skirted Clyde Lake to "The Notch" area. Climbed the cliffbands immediately above the notch saddle, and then meandered through some intermittent low lying pines adorning the ridge area. Once up higher, I was pretty impressed by the vertical drop to the north east. The last 100 yards to the peak was very impressive with the rock fracturing leaving a 10' gap almost 70 feet deep in the mountain. After signing the summit register, (noticed several SP'ers in there) I downclimbed the talus of Notch Mountains west face near Hope Lake and then followed the well worn trail back to the T.H. Notch Mountain was a fantastic hike, great weather.

Date Climbed: May 24, 2008

MOCKBA, Rob, and I started at mile 25.5 on the Mirror Lake Highway and skied a loop encompassing East Notch Mountain and Reids Peak. This is the second time I've been here. I've also climbed West Notch Mountain once in the past.

Climbed the east and west summits. Both scrambles were easy and each summit had a beautiful, unique view. Worth doing both. Didn't see a soul after leaving the trail and lakes. Combined this with climbs of Watson and Haystack to make for a great Uintas day trip.

Nice peak. The climb up the ridge was mostly boulder hopping and not too difficult. Great view from the top. The summit register is in an old honey jar under some rocks.

Easy talus scramble on not too steep of a slope. With good route finding you can completely avoid any class 3 climbing. There was a section with a lot of rockfall danger so we took turns through it. Sweet views.

Used to climb it when my Dad was fishing at Trial Lake or Wall Lake. Great views of the western Uintas.

Nice, easy scramble. Great views of the western peaks of the High Uintas. Good hike for those who want to summit without worrying about exposure or too much danger.

Fun peak. It has great views of Mt Watson, Reids Pk, and Bald Mountain. Downclimbing the cliffs to the notch offered some fun class 3 chimney downclimbing.
