This was probably the most enjoyable day of the Challenge. What a cool summit block. Kudos to Glenn on the lead. Trip Report.

Climbed with Bob, Glenn, Rick and Dave. Fun climb up Polemonium Pass and then up to the Doodad. Thanks, Glenn, for leading the 5.6 crack. Then went up the West Face of Matterhorn.

Dave DalyPart Of The Sierra Challenge (2007)  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 3, 2007

Enjoyed this technical little summit, along with Bob, Rick, Michael and Glen. First time on the Sawtooth Ridge...beautiful! Climbed to the summit via the Polemonium Col. Tagged this summit and went on to tag The Dragtooth and Matterhorn with Rick Kent. A fun first day of the Sierra Challenge 2007.

dugRoute Climbed: Traverse from Dragtooth/s face Date Climbed: 9/4/2004  Sucess!

Solo via traverse over from Dragtooth. Found the summit block to be quite interesting and in no way 5.2. The initial moves are difficult but once established it is 5.2 easy to the top. Rapped from top, descended Polemonium pass via hard neve and blue ice requiring front pointing down.

ScottySRoute Climbed: West Face Date Climbed: Sept 6, 2003

Did a 5th class route up the west face from the col to the north, however did not summit due to lack of rappeling gear. Descended a 4th class slab section on the west face directly below the summit block.

Started from Twin Lakes, took the Cleaver Notch route from Horse Creek up to Blacksmith Peak, traversed behind the Sawtooth Ridge to the Doodad, then climbed the west face of Matterhorn and descended the East Couloir route to Horse Creek.
