| All around wonderful mountain packed with exciting formations and breath-taking (literally) approaches! I've utilized mt. garfield for the past six months as a conditioning tool and have developed a healthy respect for its numerous different and interesting approaches. I recommend trying one of the many many many different alternate routes that exist! | ||

| 2,000ft in 2 miles. It'll definately get you sweating. Especially when it's 80 frickin degrees out! From the summit, I can see why they're called the Book Cliffs. Beautiful views of the Grand Valley. | ||

| Climbed this with my youngest son. He wasn't in the right frame of mind when we first started but I believe he enjoyed it as much as I did at the end. Tremendous views! They were replacing the flag while we were on the summit. They told us the pole commemorated Vietnam Veterans of the Grand Junction area. | ||

| Wow! We just loved this mountain! The route is very interesting and boy is it steep! Not recommended in wet conditions as a slippery fall could be disastrous. We could smell the suplhur oozing out of the mountain beneath the cliffs. Lots of cactus blooms made for great photography and the view from the top is awesome. Thed mountain gave us the impression that it is very rickety and could fall apart easily along the cliffs. The flag on top is plum worn out. Andy's written directions are excellent and we found the whole experience very pleasureable. | ||

| Fresh snow from the night before made the hike even more scenic than it normally must be. The weather, time of year, and the fact that I hiked early on a weekday meant I had the mountain all to myself the entire time. | ||

| I think we should rename Mount G to Mount Mars as it looks like something more from the red planet that our own. Just a thought. I'm full of them. It is steep. good training for Denali with mucho weight on! | ||

| Had the summit to myself on an overcast Tuesday afternoon. Was in Grand Junction for work in the morning. Spent two hours roundtrip. I didn't realize that about 2/3 of the elevation is gained before the one mile mark! It was tough on the toes coming down. | ||

| Did the 2000' to summit in under 45 minutes. Noted my exact time in the summit register, might have been right at 40 minutes, can't remember. I assume there is a trail race on this mountain every year, if not, there should be. Observed some horses, maybe wild, maybe not, on a grassy plateau half way up. Cheers. | ||

| Climbed Mt. Garfield a number of times. It is very challenging for a two mile hike with 2000 feet of elevation gain. Very good training hike for higher mountains or just to keep you in shape. What happened to the flag this year? | ||

| I was in town visiting the in-laws so I thought I'd give this little mountain a try. The weather was gorgeous and the views were worth the hike. It took me almost exactly an hour to reach the summit from the trailhead. | ||
