| Hiked this early in the morning and unfortunately when I got to the top it was all fogged in. I had camped the night before about a mile and half south on the approach trail that starts at Amicalola Falls. In total, this was an 18 mile day and a little more challenging than I expected with a 40lb pack. There was a really nice gentleman on top that had a register to collect peoples names and provide some great information on the trail. I wish I remembered his name... | |

| Stayed at the Springer Mountain Shelter on the night of May 3rd and then hiked to the top of Springer Mountain on the morning of May 4th. This was the start of a BP trip I did with 8 other women hiking the first 16 miles of the Appalachian Trail. We met several people starting their thru-hike and I enjoyed the many wildflowers in route to the top :) | |
