Up the cirque 1:50 from the parking lot while taking alot of pictures, a bit of new snow made it icy in a few spots, fall color peak was about a week away.

This was an awesome climb. The aspens were at their peak of color, spread out on all sides. The climbing was spectacular, perfect ridge scrambles (a little loose, but managable). Ascended the North Ridge of Beckwith and descended by traversing the entire 'east' cirque, via the SE Ridge of Beckwith, and dropping down to Dollar Lake. This portion of the route was airy Class 3 in spots... I definately thought my moves through carefully, considering the consequences on both sides.. Definately going to head back here and do the "5 cirque traverse" route that Kane has posted, probably with an ascent from Dollar Lake...

This was probably my most rewarding climb of the season. There is only one guidebook that I know of that depicts East Beckwith and the description is vague, to say the least. Normally I'm much more prepared when doing a hike of this nature but without a good route description it made it more challenging. A good topo map was all I needed this day. I have a feeling I will be going back to this area a few times next year.
