| Wasatchvoyage | Bell Canyon, up the north ridge. ![]() Date Climbed: May 14, 2009 | |
| Started early for good compacted snow above the meadow area on up. While en route to the upper Bells Reservior, I managed to get off route and ended up climbing 800 extra vertical feet just under Bells Cleaver, getting cliffed out, which I ended up having to downclimb. A little much, adding to this already 6000 + foot ascent. The upper Bells area had tons of consolidated snow, I ended up traversing the north ridge to the summit, and back the same way. Most of the way back to the reservior was done quickly by glissading more than half the route down. This peak has some excellent views! Zeejay was the last person to sign the summit register up there. | ||

| I had an evening commitment, so vanman and I got a 5 am start, and in just under 12 hours climbed S Thunder and Bighorn Peak. The mountain was still snowy even on south aspects above ~9500' and we hardly had to walk on any talus. South Thunder was a very nice snow climb, and has some of the best views in the Wasatch. We had some decent glissading too. There was a mountain goat on the summit as we approached. | ||

| vanman798 | Via School House Springs ![]() Date Climbed: Jun 14, 2008 | |
| Sean Peckham and I climbed this one via the Lake Hardy/School House Springs route from Alpine. Since we were in the neighborhood, we also bagged Bighorn Peak. We covered over 13 miles, and over 6400 ft of vertical. View our summit video. | ||

| Went up and down South Thunder in an afternoon on Easter Sunday 2008. Started from Alpine and encountered excellent snow conditions, though I got roasted by the sun all afternoon. Did the ~11 mile round trip solo in just over six hours. | ||

| Climbed with Steve Bohman. We had a great day, although it was very windy on top. We decided to go down the Alpine side, which did not seem any faster and it was very hot and dry on that side. (See trip report) | ||

| My last summit of the day during a long traverse on the Alpine Ridge. I was pretty tired by the time I made it to the top of South Thunder Mountain. The descent down Bells Canyon took longer than expected due to route finding. | ||

| Exciting to finally get this one since it is plainly visible from my backyard. Very fun scrambling on the lighning ridge. Should have left earlier we got a real late start and descended bells from the upper meadow in the dark, fortunately I know that part like the back of my hand. Can't wait to do N. Thunder from Coalpit, it is next on my list. | ||
