Joseph Bulloughvia Henrys Fork  Sucess!

Easy traverse from Kings Peak. A long and tedious descent into Painter Basin.

WasatchvoyagePart of Kings in a day.  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 14, 2009

Hit this one up by traversing the ridge from Kings, then back over Kings and down to Anderson Pass. The weather started looking fairly dark, headed back to the t.h. just before a downpour. Those other summits up there will be done another day.

ZeeJayLong day  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 7, 2009

In one long 17 hour, 28+ mile day starting from the Henrys Fork TH, I did Kings Peak, S Kings Peak, Painter Peak (13387), and Trail Rider Peak (13247). Then descended into Painter Basin, back over Gunsight Pass, and back to the start. The weather was perfect.

Travis AtwoodTraverse from Kings  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 19, 2008

After Climbing Kings, my friend John and I traversed over to South Kings. We descended down to the lake that sits beneath South Kings and then followed the drainage beneath the Gemini Peaks back to Painters basin. Great cross country route if you have the time.

Matthew Van HornHeir to the Throne  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 8, 2007

I was able to add south King's Peak after summiting King's on a 3-day backpack trip. I was seemingly the only person to stand on the wide, flat south summit on this day. I signed the summit register, rather, it is actually a bunch of loose scraps of paper stuffed into a jar. I signed "Matthew Van Horn August 8, 2007". From King's Peak, the South peak looks undenialbly higher, but then from the South Peak, King's is indeed the higher of the two, a strange optical illusion.

Moogie737Perfect add-on for Kings Peak  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Aug 29, 2006

It took my son and I about 50 minutes to go from the summit of Kings to that of South Kings. Lots of the rock slabs you encounter coming off the summit of Kings are unstable, so be careful. Contouring around two of the intermediate bumps is fun boulder hopping. One more bump and then you tackle the real summit ridge. Very flat at the top; we couldn't locate a summit register even though many talk about one being there. However, there was a very cool cairn someone had spent some time constructing.

August 1995. Much less visited than Kings. Appears higher from some directions. I've also visited Anderson Pass from several directions.

grandwazooRoute Climbed: Henry's Fork via Anderson Pass Date Climbed: May 2002  Sucess!

Had good weather the day hiking in (70's). The warm weather the day before made the snow soft up through Anderson Chute. Post holed to my crotch, not a lot of fun. Made Kings and hiked to South Kings. Got hit with a white out from South Kings back to Anderson Pass. From there it was rain back to camp.
