| Climbed with Pierce, Eisenhower and Franklin via the Crawford Path from Highland Center. Great weather and fantastic views for most of the day. By the time we reached Monroe's alpine summit the clouds over Washington had disappeared and we could finally see the Northeast's most infamous mountain in its entirety. | ||

| Climbed this during my Crawford Path hike. Initially, I bypassed this, thinking I would need my remaining energy for the summit to Mt Washington. After reaching Washington and a hot bowl of soup at the summit, I had plenty of rest to make it up Monroe. Nice view looking down the eastern face. | ||

| I had climbed this before with my son, using the Ammo trail. Had great views. But on this trip the weather really turned bad, with 80 MPH winds, sleet and freezing rain so Jay and I hightailed it to the refruge under the Lake of the Clouds hut. Eventually there were 3 through-hikers and 5 others also packing in. I got one of the top bunks and shared it with several mice who would wake me up by running over my chest. What a night. We did not summit this trip. | ||

| Third peak on a South to North Presidential Traverse. It was so foggy/cloudy that we had no idea where we were in relation to the summit. Almost got fooled by Little Monroe in the clouds. A little under 3 hours from Crawford Notch. Very windy also, seemed to be the story of the day. | ||

| Took the Ammonoosuc Ravine trail, which everyone else was taking to Washington. Got an early start, but with that comes putting up with the cold. It was windy on the summit. Cold too! Couldn't take a lot of pictures, because every time I took off my gloves, my hands started to freeze. Washington was a magnet for clouds passing bye. When I started to head down, it cleared up at Washington. Monroe and every other peak was clear of clouds. The Lakes of the Clouds hut was all closed up already. I was looking forward to eating some food I had with me. Had to eat it outside on the cold bench instead. A terrific time though. | ||

| Gla-didly-ad this was the last peak of the day before hitting LKS. Winds were between 70-100 mph (per the hut). Held trekking poles sideways for balance and was knocked over many times. | ||
