| We started round 5 o'clock in the morning with two friends because there was a risk of serious storms in the early afternoon. It was hard to find the marking in the dark (they are rather hard to find on the whole route anyway), so it took untill 7 to get to Refuge de l'Ercu, and then summited at 10.15. On the way back we were cought in a heavy thunderstorm with horizontally hitting hail between Ref. de l'Ercu and Bergerie de Petra Pinzuta (we were stupid not to stop and wait at the hut...). We took shelter in the Bergerie (which is demaged and derelict nowadays). Back to the camping there was sunshine again. This way my first ascent over 2500 meters. | |

| Solo ascent. Left the 'Camping' at 5AM. Great scramble up the Couloir de Bicarelli under the hot Corsican sun. Scary decent via Lac du Cinto in a thunderstorm with pleanty of hail and lightning. Helped a hiker who had fallen on the slick rocks and hurt himself. | |

| We climbed Monte Cinto during a 9-day hike along the GR20. We left the tent & unnessecary luggage at Haut-Asco. Started off in rainy cloudy weather. We had some difficulty finding the path and could hardly see each other due to the clouds. By the end of the morning though the clouds disappeared and we could see the summit. The view from the summit was absolutely wonderful. All the clouds were gone and to the north and west we could see the sea. We stayed at the summit for at least 2 hours after which we descended in beautiful sunny weather. | ||
