This is one of the few but well known places in the french alps for aiplane crashes....together with Obiou and a couple more.

The usual ways up start from Château-Garnier, on the eastern side (accomodation available in this village), which belongs to the upper Verdon valley. Nice place for long lone autumn walks and winter glides. Some shepherds huts around help a lot to arrange longer trips. Aparted and quiet areas where you ought to carry a (or a few...) good book to really enjoy your evenings !
