I've been up this one a couple of times, always via the road. And a crappy road it is.

The trail is a dandy, really enjoyed it as it was like walking through an arboretum specialing in desert flora. I went with Rick Hartman of Prescott and the night before the hike Rick cooked his famous "BBQ" chicken. The stuff just melted in your mouth. We hiked it early to beat the heat which warmed up to the low 90's
by the time we returned to our vehicles. Also, on a saturday, we had the summit to ourselves, no one else hiked or drove it.

Very nice trail to the top, not much sign of cities or towns out there. Cool spot

Date Climbed: Apr 26, 2006

I was spending the week with my sister is Lake Havasu, so I took the chance to come down here for a morning hike while my sister went to work. This was a fun hike with some seriously large saguaros along the way.

Date Climbed: Feb 14, 2004

A Valentine's hike with my wife. Spent night in Salome. Definitely backroad AZ. Also climbed it in 1997 hiking up nearly the full length of the access road from the south. I much prefer the north route for hiking. Our reports

Drove to the top at night. Does that still count as a summit?

Been over 2 months since my last hike and was good to get out. Cold and windy on top. Some snow was present. The wind blew the smog away which made for a very visible day. We could see into Califoria, almost to Yuma, almost to Kingman and saw the Four Peaks. Increadible view.
