| Tagged this peak after doing Nadelhorn. In hindsight, we could have avoided summit traffic on Nadelhorn by doing this one first. An enjoyable traverse and an easy scramble. Just concentrate well on the traverse. | |

| We had planned a traverse of Nadelgrat ridge from Mischabel hut via Nadelhorn and Stecknadelhorn to Dom hut. Weather wasn't 100% save but everything worked well at the beginning, with the normal route to Nadelhorn. After a short descent we branched off for Stecknadelhorn. When we had gained the firn ridge we witnessed two climbers falling down from the W-ridge of Stecknadelhorn. Two South Tyrolean climbers reched them quickly and phoned for helicopter rescue. In the meantime we had gained the summit but could not proceed because we could have caused stonefalls on victims and helpers. The rescue took some time and weather seemed to change. We were still shocked and decided to turn around. Back at Mischabel hut we learned that one of the climbers had died. Half a year later at a club conference I got to know that I had known him. | |

| On the 22nd, I climbed together with my friends from Mischabelhut via Nadelhorn to Stecknadelhorn and returned to Mischabelhut. The next day (23rd), I climbed it solo. I climbed Hohberghorn Northface and Nadel-Ridge via Stecknadelhorn and Nadelhorn back to Mischabelhut. | |

| I came from Hohberghorn solo and was afraid how difficukt the ridge seemed to be. It wasn't at all. Nice climbing and it took only 1 hour from Hohberghorn to Windjoch. | |
