| Second time to the peak, this time with Tom Becht as part of the 2009 Sierra Challenge. Thought it might be faster from Goethe to climb over Muriel on the way back to Piute Pass rather than descending Alpine Col, but it took much longer. Lesson learned. Trip Report | |

| Well...not really. More like sneaking back in through the kitchen window. This was my first serious hike/scramble after breaking my left elbow (head of humerus sheared off) in March. Felt great to be back in the mountains, but being so out of shape really sucked! Thanks, Sean, for putting up with my 'gravitational impairment!' | |

| My brother and I hiked up along the Lost Lakes after camping at Muriel lake. We had a nice little hail storm the day before. This day, smoke from the countless fires up north was filling the basin. | |

| On the way to NE Ridge of Mt Goethe, Samantha and I cramponed up to the Keyhole from Muriel Lake, climbed up SE ridge of Muriel Peak, then traversed to Alpine Col to climb the NE Ridge of Goethe. We descended from Alpine Col down to Goethe Lake and followed its west side back to Muriel Lake. | |

| Day 3, 2007 Sierra Challenge. Climbed straight to the summit from Lost Lakes via class 2/3 chute and ledges with Eric and Bill. Descended to Alpine Col and went on to Goethe via NE Ridge. Made a loop via Darwin Canyon and Mt. Lamarck with Eric. <11h car to car. | |

| Hiked from McClure Meadow in Evolution Valley to Alpine Col; followed the SW Ridge to the summit and descended the SE Ridge to the Keyhole before returning to McClure Meadow. | |

| Left base at Muriel Lake and rambled SW to Goethe Lake. Ascended to pass just to west of Muriel Peak. (Can't recall the name of this pass, Arc Pass?) Descended the other side above the large unnamed lake, then up steep chutes to summit on SW side. Killer views of Humphries and Darwin massif. Descended E ridge and face to Keyhole Pass. Encountered steep hard snow in chutes. Arrived at upper most Lost Lake to view big Golden Trout through open areas in the ice cover. Nice entertaining climb. | ||
