splandswestNo Survey Marker Here  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Apr 26, 2008

Climbed Mt Lincoln again looking for the ACofE Survey Marker. The marker is not on the top of the main summit of Mt Lincoln. Couldn't find it anywhere! Hiked from Indiahoma Rd near foot of Bat Cave Mtn up the valley (with stream) to the south summit and site of 1968 plane crash. Then circled around approached/climbed the main summit was from the NE side.

splandswestFinally!!  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Dec 29, 2007

My son Zach, myself, and Pablo (a friend from Chile) were sucessful in summiting the peak. Our route was up the NE side from the Fawn Creek area. We approached the mountain just east and south of the north peak (big boulder cluster) of Mt Lincoln. We made our final approach from the north across the center top of the mountain... picking and finding the easiest way. Crawling through a tree between two boulders we stepped onto the actual summit. The summit was very windy and the temp was in the 40's at about 1:00 PM. Mission accomplished!

splandswestAlmost made it!
Date Climbed: Mar 20, 2007

From the Indiahoma Rd, climbed Bat Cave and Phantom Mtn and then trekked to the south peak of Mt Lincoln. Tried 3 times to summit Lincoln from the S and SW without success. Ran out of time. Will try from the NE side in the future.

rmuirRoute Climbed: Several Date Climbed: Many Times  Sucess!

The best time I had on this mountain was in the 1970s when I woke up on the side of this mountain in the morning to find a herd of elk feeding around my tent. I used to wander around this mountain looking old mines and Spanish rock paintings.

truchasRoute Climbed: Traverse from Elk Mountain then down Treasure Lake Date Climbed: June 2003  Sucess!

Very hot day in June, over 100 degrees. It was beautiful though with the wildflowers out in force and the countryside very green. What a bushwack to get over to Lincoln from Elk.
