| My usual itenerary starts at Wolfe Gap and travels past Big Schloss before finally camping atop half-moon mountain. It is one of the few local places in which one can see a total of two lights at night when looking west. | |

| Hiked the part of the length of GNM on a gorgeous fall weekend. Camped at the Gerhard shelter and at a primitive site south of the second road crossing. Very nice. Great company and great hike. | |
