| Started my hike at Rt 77 along the A.T. and headed South to Rt 40. I took my time bird watching and enjoying the views, especially at Black Rock. Trip took about 5 hours but like I said I took my time. Was a fun hike, looking forward to doing it again | |

| Led some friends up the Black Rock route about 5 years ago. Came down in a downpour. Repeated twice more summer of 2006. The route is more fun than the standard trail, rocky, with a solid grade. Can get slippery when wet as it follows a streambed. Anyone who is interested in South Mountain use the contact info. | |

| Not the exact date but a close guess. Grew up in Myersville and spent a lot of my youth running around huge portions of South Mountain. Tons of time at Wa. Mon. state park. That was one of the first places I took my future wife while visiting home. | |
