| We started south of the mountain at Pagnona village. The ascent followed a little road,than along the south ridge which had snow and corniches at the end. The summit is a perfect lookout 2400m down to Como lake and to Monte Rosa etc. Descent was along west ridge, where many snow had remained. We traversed from Legnone hut beneath the mountain and had to climb another 100m to gain our ascent route back to the car.. Great trip! | |

| This is the route un the west ridge,which is the normal in any season.This is the description in snow/ice condition.The way start from Roccoli dei Lorla refuge(1463 slm).There's not a real path,but you need just to follow the ridge towards top.There is a key passage beetwen the rocks, and make sure to reconnaise it almost in the middle of the way.So try to walk on hard snow with crampons.The snow on the ridge should be harden than the rest,but pay attention in stong wind!!The view from the top is just amazing.The distance from the base and the top is about 1200 m. | |
