colinpencegreat peak!  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jun 10, 2006

I climbed with the "usual suspects", and managed to enjoy the day in spite of falling and scraping my arm on some loose gravel.

snowless november climb of jacque?

yeah, that's what we encountered this veteran's day. it's lovely seeing that hiking is easier but the lack of snow is starting to become depressing.

chicagotransplantSE ridge to NE ridge w/ Tucker  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Nov 11, 2007

Copper was open, but the back bowls were dry so no ski patrol to worry about. Ascended the SE ridge via CO 91 and a Climax service road then made the traverse all the way around to Tucker Mountain and back down through Tucker Gulch. Great views, this "low 13er" has over 2000' of prominence and it shows!

Did a little navigation through the woods to get onto Tucker Mountain and then up the ridge. Nice day! Some snow to avoid.

shknbkeup s.e. ridge, down n.e. ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Apr 28, 2007

After wallowing in sugar snow on New Years day which led to an abort, I tried it again, this time via the s.e. ridge. The snow was great and we moved well this time. When down the n.e. ridge and over Tucker on the way down. Tucker is off limits during ski season.

I climbed Jacque Peak on a gorgeous winter day. Then I descended Jacque Peak on the same gorgeous winter day and almost got arrested for it! All in all, a pretty typical day in the mountains. Trip report to follow....

Date Climbed: Jun 10, 2006

Climbed this one with the IU Trekkers, following Kane's route-sort of. We stayed on top of Tucker Mountain rather than contouring up the basin to avoid snow patches. Great day, awesome views.

JJGeller Gulch/Searle Pass/NW Ridge  Sucess!
Date Climbed: May 25, 2006

Went solo on a beautiful day. Started at the pull-off right after the bridge on I-70. There was a river crossing 5 minutes into the hike, but posed no difficulty. Lots of post-holing starting just below Janets cabin. Once on Searle Pass the route was pretty much snow free. The route back was straight-forward, just be aware of the high river flow in the afternoon. Total time was 8 hours with the conditons. I would have to say after looking at all the other routes to the summit of Jaques Peak, this has to be the most beautiful and secluded of them all. Can't wait to come back and do some winter skiing on Searle Pass.

I did this with the Colorado Mountain Club. We cheated a bit by taking the lift about halfway up. Views are spectacular from up there.

Hard to beat the views from up there.

Nice sunny April hike, with even better views. If you do this one with snow you don't nessecarily see the mining scars that dominate the view to the southeast. Only upon close inspection does Bartlett Mountain look like a giant staircase wit all that snow!
