| Spent the night in my vehicle at the Hellroaring trailhead at 9,800. Started off amidst the morning alpenglow, dropped off the plateau into Sliderock Lake, then up the ramp to the top. Easy stroll, but nothing is real easy at 12,000 feet. The view is one of the best in the Beartooths, and you can see most of the 12,000 footers, as well as a good part of the North Absaroka. On the return, we dropped down the south ridge and circled back to our car that way. |
