| This was one of the densest bushwacks I've ever encountered! A desperate battle with shrubs and trees lead me up the gulley to Point 2137', where the going became much easier. A series of clearings led up to the main summit at 2255'. I then descended SSW and climbed up to the spectacular top of "Sunset Spire", the southernmost summit of the Sunset massif. I found a better route for the descent, thanks to the local bovine community, but had to brush off 37 ticks in the process (only 2 actually sunk their fangs in). A note to all, May is definitely tick season in the Wichita! |
