With Brent, Kim & Lana. Snow at increasing depths above 7,000'. The fall colors in the canyon contrasted with the fresh snow and the effect was magnificent. Fun scrambling for the final 200' yards of the ascent. A wonderful way to gain 4,300' in the Wasatch and enjoy the beauty of autumn. 2nd ascent 9-1-09 with Brent & Dave. Via the west ridge. Went on to climb "Ferguson Peak" before descending.

An enjoyable half day hike after work. Long, steep and hot with a great reward of views into Stairs Gulch and BCC.

Came all the way from the valley, although it is mostly trail there is some nice ridge scrambling on the top, kept going to the pinnacle to the north of Broads Fork Twin which is easily seen from the valley. Could be its own peak? I don't know it is fairly prominent though and really fun to get to after getting out of the upper Ferguson Meadow. Great views of the upper deaf smith basin as well. Wonderful exposure. Lot's of loose rock on the ridge though.

Beautiful canyon and peak. Started the hike at 2pm and got cooked on the way up! On hot days, start this one early. Had total solitude once I passed the climbing walls. Really enjoyed the final scramble to the top.

Joe Bullough and I bagged Storm Mtn early in the morning on our way to the Cottonwood Ridge, which turned out to be a day with 9,000 ft of elevation gain!

Gnarly Hike over rough terrain. after the second major stream crossing be sure to stay on the trail. If you're ascending some scree covered granite slabs, you're off route, go back before it's too late. We had to bushwack and then scramble down to the river. luckily, there was a tree to cross on right where we found it. Also, don't wear chacos... you'll regret it.

After summitting in less than 2 hrs from the TH, I continued on along the full Robinson Ridge, then continued on to do Broads Fork Twins, Sunrise Pk, and Mt Dromedary before descending via Lake Blanche. A storm front was moving in, and we encountered steady 20-30mph winds with 40-50mph gusts. Overall, Joe and I gained nearly 8,000 ft that day in about 10 hrs RT

Definately a seldom visited place. Bottom area of Ferguson is a mess to find your way through. Once into the canyon, it's a steep, quiet hike to a beautiful meadow. I enjoyed the route-finding to the summit...had a few pesky mountain goats on the summit ridge.

1st time: Solo at age 15. Rode the bus from West Valley City to the mouth of Big Cottonwood, hiked up and camped in the snow at 8000 feet. Summitted the next morning.

2nd time: Winter ascent. Completed the rugged West Ridge because Ferguson had too much powder snow.

Nice fun hike. The trail was a little rough, but the views were great. It was a nice suprise to find a summit register on top inside a Geocache
