| Started up the mountain from the looking glass rock trailhead just before nine in the morning. At first, when the rain started coming down, I wasn't thrilled, but soon appreciated it. I doubt there are many Sunday's throughout the year that I would have the summit and entire trail to myself like I did today. The actual summit didn't present much of a view, but skirt off to the left or right or straight across the summit about 1/4 mile offered beautiful Blue Ridge vistas. Just be careful hiking around the bald rocks this time of year. I tempted death a few times, slippin on clear ice patches. |
