| I set out just before sunrise from Lake LaCrosse and proceeded up the basin to base of the western buttress of White Mountain. I followed an elk trail most of the way up to the ridge line and then from there I crossed a snow and rock field to reach the 6000 foot western summit of White Mountain. From there I could see the summit but it was too dangerous without the right gear, so I just explored on the ridge line below the true summt. It was a great view! Anderson, Chimney, Crystal and Stone! The views were awesome! Someday I'll reach the true summit from Anderson Pass |
