| Keller was great, but you better be in shape if you plan to pack in to upper Slate Lake after this one. The class 3 ridge on Keller is a lot of fun. I like those Gores. | ||

| Combined Keller with N. Traverse, Grand Traverse, and 12485. Up Bighorn Creek and down Deluge Lake trails with car shuttle. A long day of scrambling! See TR. | ||

| The east ridge was an easy 3rd class scramble. Descended a loose gully to the south and just when the bushwhacking started getting bad, we found a fairly good trail that led all the way back to the mine! This trail is a good ways above the valley floor. | ||

| It was a perfect day. I got to the trailhead at 3am and started at 4am. It was a bushwhack up to the ridge and the 3rd class route finding was a blast. I spent some time on the summit learning my favorite Colorado range, then decided to glissade 1100 vertical feet down the SE face of Keller into the Rock Creek drainage. It was a grueling bushwhack back to Boss Mine. Since my first visit I've been intrigued by the Gore Range, and today I obtained my first Gore Range summit. I'm hooked! | ||

| A good, long push up the east ridge, on our second attempt (a week after the first). One of the best days I've ever had in the mountains. | ||

| Hiked the south ridge route from Bighorn Creek with Gurlyclimber. Capped a nice long weekend of Gore climbing! Fun exposed 3rd class if you stay on the ridge crest, some of it can be bypassed on the east if not to your liking. | ||

| Hiked with chicagotransplant. Looks like the Indian Peaks maybe taking a back seat to the Gores for me for a while. Loved the place. | ||

| Kurt, Chris and I climbed the East Ridge and descended by the south slopes. Views from the summit are outstanding. The crux is something else. We were scouting this as a possible Summit Seniors Mtn Goat hike. We would lose a lot of friends. We saw two other climbers following us. | ||

| RyanS | East Ridge, descent via South Slopes ![]() Date Climbed: Jul 8, 2006 | |
| My wife and I climbed Keller with a couple of friends via its East Ridge on a soggy day. The wet rock made this third-class scramble more interesting. We descended Keller's south slopes, passing Lake 11,660 before entering upper North Rock Creek's meadows. From there we enjoyed a breathtaking bushwhack back to the trailhead -- one of the most beautiful hikes I've been on! The Gore Range is definitely something special, and I'm looking forward to coming back. A trip report is available here. | ||

| Fantastic! Descended the south slopes to avoid being on the ridge during afternoon thunderstorms and endured a bushwhack back to the car. | ||

| Started out as simply a hike, turned into a scramble to the top. The views of the Grand Traverse are staggering and enticing. Someday... | ||

| A very fun mountain. Highly recomended. My dogs were along with me but this is not the most dog friendly of mountains. The Gores are addictive. | ||
