| Easily the most awe-inspiring trail I've ever hiked. The grove is beautiful beyond description. The sheer number of enormous trees seems unbelievable, at times. One keeps expecting the grove to end at the next step, the next bend in the trail, the next dip in the ridge, but as you continue, so does the old growth forest. There are at least two world-record trees along this trail: the world's champion white pine, and the world's champion tulip poplar. Not to mention the doomed groves of gigantic, cathedral-like hemlocks.
