ClimbpeaksJust before the skies opened up...  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Jul 15, 2008

We took our time and summited from the backside using the trail which starts at Lake George. Got up there just in time to sign the register and rest. On our way back down lightning struck literally just above our heads.... Great climb

jonmeek16A fun Loop  Sucess!

I've done this trail many times. It's fun to take the trail to the Crest, go back 3 more miles on the trail to Deer Lakes. Take a cross country over the mountain. When you get to the top of the ridge you'll see the massive 1/2mile long Duck Lake. Proceed straight to that, then pick up the Duck Pass trail back down to Lake Mary. 12 mile trip, and super fun!

d_shorbhike/board

this is a great place to play. I've only had the chance to snowboard there once as of yet.

James_WRoute Climbed: Mammoth Mountain Direct North East Face Ascent Date Climbed: July, 2005  Sucess!

Climbed mountain directly from parking up the north east face. Ascended up rock between 2 snow fields. Faced very unstable class 3 talus and break apart in your hand rock. An excelent 1,5000ft scramble up the peak.

Matthew HollimanRoute Climbed: Traverse from Crystal Crag Date Climbed: July 5, 2005  Sucess!

Followed the crest of the ridge over every bump on my way to Duck Pass from Crystal Crag. The climb up to the ridge was spicy with just an ice axe--surprisingly steep snow, and occasional patches of ice underneath where I was kicking steps. Some interesting scrambling further along the ridgecrest from the highpoint, too, class 4 in a couple of places while downclimbing into a couple of the prominent notches. (This could have been avoided in favour of lots and lots of talus lower down).

chiligodRoute Climbed: lake george Date Climbed: apr. 2002  Sucess!
this time we found the ridge route from lake george. the silence is never as loud as in a place like mammoth crest in the late winter/early spring. three of us hiked the ridge and carved some crusty turns on

ships prow.

chiligodRoute Climbed: face below blue couloir Date Climbed: mar. 2002  Sucess!
this was the high point of my climbing carrer for several

reasons. one, we took the most direct route, two, we made fresh lines on blue coulior, and three, because i

faced my fear of dying 3 yards from summit. many details like the exact date and such are foggy, but feel free to email me with questions or comments. i'm looking for Austin my old climbing partner from mammoth lakes.

ClydascopeRoute Climbed: Traverses Date Climbed: Lots  Sucess!

This is a common hike for me, have traversed the entire ridge from Mammoth Pass to Deer Lakes Pass several times, sometimes just to the high point, many times with dogs, friends, on skis etc. There used to be a summit register entry from Tom Ross and Andy Smatko calling the highpoint "Ship's Prow Peak".

1000PksRoute Climbed: Trail from about Lake George Date Climbed: September 3, 2004  Sucess!

Nice 3X for me. Please sign the register when you are there, and make sure it is secure when re-inserting the cans into the summit rock nesting spot.
