Peak 5 of 8, did a variation of "Mummy Mania" we dubbed "Mummy Masochism" because we tacked 2 bushwhack 11ers on to the end. Appx 19 miles, 7000 vertical - climbed Chapin, Chiquita, Ypsilon, Fairchild, Hagues, Mummy, Tileston and Bighorn.
Visited Hague's Peak on a long holiday weekend trek, camped in the swale north of the peak at about 13000 feet and woke up with two inches of snow on my tent on the 4th of July.
Mummy - Hagues - Fairchild Date Climbed: Aug 3, 2008
Hiked all three peaks in a day after a camp at the Lawn Lake backcountry campsite. The traverse from Mummy to Hagues provided great views of the Crystal Lakes below Fairchild.
I led a youth group on an outing to Lawn Lake. None of them was willing to get up early the next day, so I just went by myself to the summit. I think when I returned to the lake some of them wish they had gotten up.
With Eric Holle. Couldn't resist doing a little class 4 climbing up diagonal cracks near summit. Sweet mountain. GOING STRONG! Summited after Fairchild then off to Mummy.
It was a very long day, but worth the effort to be on the highest point in Larimer County, Colorado. We decended along the ridge to Dunraven and Raven Point, but had to drop off the ridge when dark clouds moved in.
Route Climbed: North Ridge from Rowe Peak Date Climbed: August 16, 1986
We were able to find an 3rd class route across the ridge above Rowe Glacier by staying on the west side and finding ledge systems to bypass the gendarmes. Total ascents = 3.
