| This is a very easy climb up a fairly broad ridge from Polaris Pass. The problem for me was it was at the end of a 15 mile, 5 peak day and my body wasn't quite prepared for that. Plus it was getting dark fast, but with my schedule the next day, if I did not get up this one on this day, I wasn't going to get it. The sun set a couple minutes before I got to the top. The views were great, but fading fast. At this elevation, once the sun goes down, there is not much residual light. There was no summit register, at least I couldn't see one in the dark. I dropped off the east side and surfed scree all the way down to my camp in the dark. Would like to return to the top in the daylight next time. This is an overlooked, yet real nice mountain. |
