Climbed Sharp Top attempting to see the sunrise but missed it by 20 minutes. The clouds formed a dark ceiling 500 ft above the summit which really made for some beautiful photos.

In our day of otterquest, we saved the best peak for last.

We met a nice fellow at the top who was both an internet bigshot and a Broadway playwrite who agreed to help my brother and I control the media in our quest for world domination.

Date Climbed: Feb 10, 2007

This was a fun easy hike. A guide book I looked at described this as a strenuous trek. It was easy, even with snow on the ground. Took 70 minutes to reach the summit at a leisurely pace. Nice views.

Alan SharpFun to climb a mountain with my name on it!  Sucess!
Date Climbed: Apr 27, 2006

Was driving the Blue Ridge Parkway and decided to stop and do this one just because it had my name on it. Nice little climb and a great view from the top.

Nice hike, but the summit was in clouds. Hope to be back to see the view!

I finally climbed Sharp Top on Friday, November 19, 2004. I'd been to the Peaks of Otter area several times without scaling the summit. Having arrived late, I made a dash for the summit at 4:00 pm and did the mile and a half and 1,400 vertical feet in about 45 minutes. It's a really classic eastern peak, and I want to go back and savor a longer trip to the top.
