Big Winds! Cold. Thorny thrash. Nice to have done it; wouldn't do it again.

txmountaineerBowl Bushwack up Mt. Pratt  Sucess!
Date Climbed: May 6, 2006

I'm going to sound a lot like Barry, but it was an extremely windy day for me as well. The wind plus hiking early in the morning made the ascent quite comfortable, though the descent was hot as usual. The scrub gets extremely dense as you traverse over the intermediate summit on South Pratt Ridge, but its still passable. The most "interesting" part was having a cactus spine (looked like a cross between a yucca and aloe vera) come through my shoe and go .25" into my foot!

truchasRoute Climbed: The Bowl Bushwack Date Climbed: November 26, 2004  Sucess!

An extremely windy day. The Bowl offered some nice shelter from the winds in route. Still some snow on the ground and mostly clear skies. A very enjoyable climb with an overnighter at Pine Top.
